Food Sensitivity Testing

In many cases, conditions such as irritable bowel, asthma, eczema, psoriasis, arthritis, sinusitis, migraine etc are different manifestations of inflammation caused by food intolerance.

If the problem foods can be identified accurately and removed from the diet, there will be a very significant improvement in health.

Conditions relating to food sensitivity begin when the digestive system is no longer able to process particular foods as they pass down through the digestive tract. The end result is the build-up of many poisonous intestinal toxins.

Thyroid Autoantibody Testing

The new thyroid autoantibody test is able to detect these antibodies sent out to attack the thyroid gland. Early detection of raised thyroid antibody levels can often precede the onset of symptoms by a year or more. The presence of these thyroid antibodies unequivocally confirms the diagnosis of thyroid disease.

Thyroid disease is typically a malfunction of the thyroid gland, where the immune system destroys or stimulates thyroid tissue. It is almost always caused by the autoimmune condition Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, in which the body’s immune system reacts against the thyroid gland gradually making it inactive and causing hypothyroidism, or by Graves Disease, where the production of thyroid hormone is stimulated causing hyperthyroidism.

Intolerance Indicator Testing (NEW)

This test is designed to simply give a Yes or No result to determine if a more detailed food test is necessary. If this indicator test result is No, you are unlikely to have an IgG mediated food sensitivity.

Low Grade Inflammation Testing (NEW)

Most of the time, inflammation is a lifesaver because it enables your body to fend off various disease-causing bacteria, viruses and parasites. The instant any of these deadly microbes enters your body, your defences destroy them by a process known as inflammation.

Once the invading microbes are killed, the inflammation process shuts down and healing begins. Every once in a while, however, the whole feverish production doesn’t shut down on cue. The inflammation becomes chronic rather than transitory.

Candid Albicans Testing

Candida Albicans is a yeast-like fungus that is normally present on the skin and on mucous membranes such as the vagina, mouth, or rectum. An overgrowth of Candida in these areas is commonly referred to as thrush. It is also a normal inhabitant of the human gut, however, when a person has a microbial imbalance, Candida Albicans can change its form to become a pathogenic (injurious) invasive fungus.

The test is designed to detect elevated levels of IgM and IgG antibodies to Candida Albicans. Elevated IgM results indicate an early stage infection. Elevated IgG results indicate an actively ongoing infection or the occurrence of a past infection.

Coeliac Testing

Coeliac Disease (CD) is a permanent disease of the small intestine, caused by a reaction to the gluten found in wheat, rye and barley. The intestinal lining is subjected to severe attack as a result of the gluten. The intestinal lining becomes leaky and loses its ability to absorb nutrients from food. It’s a good idea to look into coeliac testing if you suffer from the below.

You should really suspect CD if despite all the best treatment, your condition fails to improve.  This is because the proper diagnosis has not been made. In truth, many thousands of people are but treating the associated symptoms.

Vitamin D Testing

Vitamin D deficiency can be a serious problem and does not have very obvious symptoms. It increases susceptibility to other more serious conditions. Maintaining Vitamin D levels protects the body from a wide range of diseases including viruses, cardiovascular disease and bone disease including osteoporosis. Depression and breast, prostate and colon cancer have also been linked to an increased risk of Vitamin D deficiency.

The long Irish winter and the lack of sunlight is perhaps the biggest cause of Vitamin D deficiency amongst people living in Ireland. That’s why we should be more concerned than most countries.
