Disclaimer

The food-sensitivity test(s) offered by Fitzwilliam Food Test Clinic (hereafter “we”, “our”, or “the Clinic”) are designed to assess potential immune-system responses (specifically IgG antibody production) to certain foods and may provide helpful information in the context of digestive, inflammatory or other symptoms. However, please note:

  1. Not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment
The test is not the same as a classic IgE-mediated food allergy test. If you suspect you have a food allergy, severe adverse reaction, or require urgent medical care, you must see a qualified medical practitioner. The test results do not replace consultation, diagnosis or treatment by your doctor, and you should always seek the advice of your doctor before making significant changes to your diet or health strategy.

  2. Interpretation and use of results
Results of the test should be interpreted in conjunction with your medical history, current health status, and under the guidance of a suitably qualified health professional. A positive result (or elevated IgG response) does not always mean you will experience symptoms or that the specific food is definitively causing your symptoms. Conversely, a negative result does not guarantee that a food is harmless in all circumstances.

  3. Scope and limitations of the test
    The testing services we provide:

    • Are for food-sensitivity (immune-linked, IgG) reactions, not classical food allergies (IgE) or intolerance mechanisms we might not detect.

    • May identify potential triggers, but they do not identify all possible dietary or non-dietary causes of your symptoms (for example, infections, structural GI issues, medications, other intolerances or allergies).

    • Are provided on the basis of a finger-prick blood sample returned to our laboratory. While we apply quality standards, no test is perfect and false positives and false negatives can occur.

  4. Dietary changes and health decisions
The results may suggest elimination or reduction of certain foods, but any changes you make to your diet should be done cautiously and ideally under supervision (for example, with your doctor or a registered dietitian), especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, elderly, have nutritional deficiencies or are on medications.

  5. General health and symptom claims
While many clients report improvements in symptoms such as bloating, headaches, inflammation or digestive discomfort, we cannot guarantee specific health outcomes for every individual. Our services are part of a broader health and dietary strategy—not a guaranteed cure.

  6. Jurisdiction and regulatory status
The Clinic and its tests operate in Ireland (Dublin 2). Availability and regulation of food-sensitivity tests may vary in other regions. Customers outside Ireland should verify local suitability and regulatory compliance.

  7. Consent & responsibility
By ordering or participating in the test, you acknowledge that you have read this disclaimer, that you understand the test’s nature and limitations, and that you accept responsibility for how you act on results or recommendations. The Clinic is not liable for any costs, adverse effects or consequences arising from use of the test results, including unintended dietary restrictions or health impacts.
